Why can't I park my car on the street during the winter?

It is illegal to leave a car parked on the street November through April, as stipulated by Salt Lake County Ordinance 11.20.130.  Having to swerve a snow plow in and out between parked vehicles is not only dangerous, but also nerve wracking for our drivers.  We can not do an efficient job with parked vehicles on the street.  Additionally, vehicles parked on the road could be plowed in with a snow bank or damaged by the snow plow.  Typically the street will not be plowed if cars are parked on it.
